Legal · Terms

What we are,
stated plainly.

A summary of the terms that matter most, in the order people actually care about them. The executed agreement governs; this page exists so nothing in it is a surprise.

Our role

TapProof is software

We are
We license acceptance software, device attestation and an evidence stream, and we introduce merchants to licensed acquiring partners.
Technology provider
We are not
Not a payment aggregator, acquirer, payment system operator or lender. We hold no RBI authorisation and do not seek one.
Not a PA
Your contract
Acceptance is governed by the agreement between you and the bank or payment aggregator that onboards you. We are not a party to it.
With your acquirer
Your money
Settlement flows from your acquiring partner to your account. No TapProof account sits in that flow at any point.
Never ours

Plainly

Written to be read, not to be survived

Using the service

What each side commits to

Devices
You supply handsets meeting the published requirements and keep them unmodified. We will refuse a session on a device that fails attestation, by design.
Your responsibility
Operators
You are responsible for who you authorise and for their conduct. Where your sector regulates that conduct, we enforce what software can enforce and evidence the rest.
Your responsibility
Availability
Service levels, support hours and escalation paths are set in your agreement rather than asserted on a marketing page.
By agreement
Fees
Per enrolled device and per month for software. We take no share of your transaction and deduct nothing before your money reaches you.
Invoiced in arrears
Ending it
Notice periods are short and symmetrical. On termination you keep your historical evidence records; we export them and then delete our copies on schedule.
Plainly

Three parties, clearly separated

Who is who

Three parties, and only one of them is us

You, your acquiring partner, and TapProof. Knowing which of the three owes you what is the single most useful thing to take from this page.

Limits

What we do not promise

Every product page is an argument for a thing. This section is the other half.

Approval
Your acquiring partner decides whether to onboard you and at what rate. We prepare and route your file; we do not underwrite it and cannot commit them.
Not guaranteed
Issuer behaviour
Whether a given card is approved is a decision by the issuing bank. No acceptance provider can change that.
Outside our control
Regulatory outcomes
Where your sector regulates your conduct, responsibility remains yours. We produce the evidence; we cannot make you compliant on our own.
Yours
Certification status
We publish exactly which certifications are held, by whom, and which are pending. We will not imply more than that.
As stated

Governed by Indian law. This page is a plain-language summary; where it differs from the executed agreement, the agreement governs. Questions to legal@tapproof.in.
